What a weekend! Awesome to spend the wkend with such a top group of people.
Truly humbled in what 14 unbelievably committed ladies achieved, they should be extremely proud after completing the UK 24hr 3-Peaks challenge ⛰️⛰️⛰️
After training and preparing for 12 months, they conquered their mountain, literally, on 3 occasions.
However, I reminded them to be conscious of the ‘third mountain’, what you do after achieving a goal. It is entirely normal to feeling empty rather than elated in the days post event. That empty feeling is called the ‘arrival fallacy’. Reaching your milestones gives you dopamine hits, you will feel like you are on cloud nine. You have overcome a challenge in your life and, as a result, built a habit that will bring you to new heights. It’s a wonderful feeling, but eventually, that dopamine-high from the success fades away. It’s harder for you biochemically to have joy.
I asked them to set small, achievable goals. Maintain discipline in their routine, and most important, KEEP SPEAKING TO EACH OTHER or anyone.
